Install the extension

Click "Add to Chrome" on the store listing and confirm the permissions prompt. No sign-up, no account.

Get an API key

Use whichever provider you already have: OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini. A few minutes on their site is all it takes.

Any of the three works. Consensus doesn't favor one.

Paste the key and test

Open Consensus's options page, paste your key, and hit "Test Key" to confirm it's live before you rely on it.

Run your first analysis

Open any YouTube video, click the Consensus icon in your toolbar, and hit "Analyze." Your first rating appears in a few seconds.

What you'll see during analysis

No YouTube API: Consensus just scrolls and reads the comments like you would, so there's no quota to hit and no extra key to hold onto.
