Consensus is a Chrome extension that reads what viewers actually said in the comments and tells you whether a video's claimed outcome is real, before you burn ten minutes finding out yourself.

It scrapes comments straight from the page (DOM), summarizes them against a standing weighted rule, and works with the LLM to return a 1-10 rating with a plain-language summary.

How it works

1. A badge appears next to the video title on any YouTube watch page.
2. Click it to scrape the visible comments directly from the page. No YouTube API, no quota.
3. The title and comments are sent to your chosen provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini) using your own key.
4. You get a rating, a verdict, and a summary of what supports or contradicts the claim.

Setup

• Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
• Open the options page and paste in your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini.
• Open any YouTube video, the badge appears next to the title.
• That's it. Requests go straight from your browser to your provider.

Note: Remember to keep a track of the analyses and expenditure via the Consensus dashboard.

Cost

About $0.0045 per analysis on average, using smaller models like Claude Sonnet 5, GPT-4o-mini, or Gemini Flash. Your own dashboard tracks the real number as you go.
